We Want to Hear from You

The Town currently allows detached and attached Accessory Dwelling Units (also known as Second Units) to be built in many, but not all, residential areas in Portola Valley. Depending on the size of the property, different-sized Second Units can be built. The Town is compiling a list of potential policy changes that would encourage the creation of ADUs — and we want to hear from you!

Town staff will be at the steps of the Historic Schoolhouse from 4 - 5 pm. Please stop by to chat and share your ideas on how to make building ADUs easier.

If you’re unable to be at the market, please email your thoughts or ideas to Arly Cassidy, Interim Planning Director.

Visit the market website at and join us on Facebook for weekly market day news!
