PG&E Nighttime Leak Survey
PG&E will be deploying their gas leak detection and repair team across San Mateo County for about two weeks starting Saturday, April 16, 2016.
The team will survey portions of Atherton, Brisbane, Burlingame, El Granada, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Ladera, Menlo Park, Millbrae, Montara, Moss Beach, Pacifica, Portola Valley, Redwood City, San Mateo, Stanford, and Woodside.
The state-of-the-art equipment being used is wind-sensitive so that the team will be conducting evening (7 pm to Midnight) and early morning (1 am to 6 am) detection runs. PG&E vehicles will drive along streets in the evening hours between 7 pm – 6 am.
If a team identifies any grade one leaks, the location will be staffed by a PG&E representative until a repair crew arrives to fix the leak. PG&E will repair, replace or upgrade any pipeline not meeting safety standards. There is the possibility that crews will mobilize during the night to immediately address a leak. This work should not affect gas service. PG&E will contact customers directly if that changes.
All PG&E employees and contractors are required to carry PG&E photo identification. They are happy to show you their PG&E ID upon request.
