Message from Sheriff’s Office via SMC Alert - PV Burglary Tips
Issued Thursday, August 23rd at 5:13 pm

We appreciate everyone's awareness in the recent burglaries in Portola Valley. We want to remind everyone of the following tips to stay safe:

-Do not take the law into your own hands.

-Call in anything that seems suspicious (911 or 650-363-4911).

-We have extra deputies in the area patrolling, so if you see something say something.

-Lock your house and secure your valuables in a safe when possible.

-Make sure your video surveillance equipment/software is up to date. If you do not have a system, consider getting one. It is a valuable tool for investigators.

-Lastly, our investigators are busy following up on leads, and working with the actual victims of these crimes. It slows down the process and it is not feasible for them to discuss the details of what is being done with everyone who calls asking for information.

Thank you all for your continued vigilance and support.
