Building, Planning, & Engineering Departments

Through the Town's General Plan, Portola Valley residents have expressed their strong common interest in preserving the small town character and natural conditions of the area. Therefore, most building, grading or other land improvement activities are subject to Town permit requirements. In that light, the Town's Building, Engineering and Planning staff serve as a check point for meeting Town guidelines and regulations, providing residents with assistance and advice on Town policies and procedures in association with proposed project development.

The Building, Planning and Engineering Department is located in the Town Hall Offices at Town Center (765 Portola Road, Portola Valley, CA. 94028).

Hours are: Monday - Friday (Holidays excluded) 8:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
