The Practical Wisdom of Working with Living Soil
Want to get away from gardening with chemicals once and for all? Confused about compost and “organic” product claims? Join Alane Weber of Botanical Arts for a lecture on the foundation of sustainable landscape management: The Soil Foodweb. With extraordinary pictures and data backed by scientific research, we will explore the environmental services offered by soil biology and how to maximize their benefits.
Alane grew up in the gardens, creeks and wild spaces of the peninsula. Since then, she has worked in multiple aspects of the landscape trades for 40+ years. Over the last 20 years Alane has focused on sustainable/organic gardening practices, lecturing and consulting throughout the Bay Area. Her business, Botanical Arts, produces and applies actively aerated compost tea.
Program begins at 7:00 p.m. (light refreshments at 6:45 p.m.)
