Earth Day Fair

Join us on Saturday, April 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for Portola Valley’s first Earth Day Fair!

Questions about recycling? composting? water conservation? The Earth Day Fair is the place to get all your questions answered, gather resources and learn how to live more sustainably.FREE fun for all at the Town Center! Activities Include:

· GreenWaste Recovery (the Town’s recycling/waste disposal service) will provide information and answers about their programs plus a recycling game for kids!

· CalWater Services will provide information on water conservation including water audit kits for the first 40 residents!

· Master Composters from RecycleWorks will demonstrate composting techniques

· Acterra – Action for a Healthy Planet will have their light bulb display on hand and information on their many programs

· The Reuse People will provide information on home deconstruction and salvaging of materials

· Town Conservation Committee will have the Town’s Conservation Guide and new Native Plant Guidelines available

· Portola Valley Garden Club will host a native plant demonstration

· Safe Routes to School and SamTrans bus information and maps

· Nike Reuse-a-Shoe tennis shoe collection—donate your worn-out athletic shoes (any brand) and Nike will grind them up and reuse them for sport surfaces

· Tours of the new green Town Center featuring green building methods, reuse of materials and the Sausal Creek daylighting/restoration project

· Activities for kids & more!
