As of 8:30PM Saturday October 26th PG&E has begun to shut down power to Portola Valley for a Public Safety Power Shutoff due to extreme fire weather.
The shutoff is predicted to end on Monday, October 28th, provided the extreme weather event is concluded but power will not be restored until PG&E is able to conduct a visual inspection of the power lines. Power restoration can be anywhere from 36 hours up to 5 days.
The Town is monitoring the situation, and we expect to update you with new information as it becomes available.
Cell service and internet may be spotty or non-existent in your neighborhood depending if your cell or internet carrier has backup power at their towers.
If you have elderly neighbors or know anyone that need extra help please check in on them during the Power Shutoff to make sure they are provided for.
