PG&E Potential Power Shutoff for October 29th
The Town has been notified by PG&E of another possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in Portola Valley starting anytime early Tuesday morning October 29. The weather event could last until 6-10 am on Wednesday, October 30th. Right now PG&E is in a "Monitoring" status and will be notifying all impacted PG&E Customers. As before, if the power does go off in your neighborhood PG&E will have to inspect all the power lines before the power gets turned back on and it could take 36 hours to 5 days. Please be prepared for the power to go off and be off for several days.
The Town is monitoring the situation, and we expect to update you with new information as it becomes available. The Town will be updating the website at www.portolavalley.net and the emergency radio at 1680 on the AM dial as information becomes available. Town Hall will be open during normal business hours.
If you still do not have power from the October 26-28th Public Safety Power Shutoff PG&E is currently inspecting the power lines to prepare them to be re-energized. You may see PG&E vehicles or low flying helicopters conducting visual inspections of all power lines. PG&E must inspect each line before they turn on the power to homes and businesses. Power restoration can take anywhere from 36 hours up to 5 days.
We will provide new information as it becomes available.
