The sheriff's office has set up a command post at Windy Hill to locate a hiker who went missing near the skyline area of the trail. Mutual aid was requested- there will be additional search and rescue officers from other local jurisdictions assisting in the search. Please note there might be unexpected delays near Windy Hill and the Skyline area.

5/2/25 SMC Alert: The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is continuing the search for Margaret "Elaine" McKinley at the Windy Hill Preserve in Portola Valley. We are asking for the publics assistance in reviewing any video surveillance footage such as doorbell cameras to see if the missing person has been seen in the area. Please check your properties and buildings out for the subject.
