Portola Valley is currently seeking applications from town residents to apply to serve on the Board of Trustees of the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District.
The San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District is an independent special government district that is focused on protecting the public health of the residents of San Mateo County through a science-based program of integrated vector management that is responsive to the community. The Board of Trustees consists of 21 members, one from each city/town and one representative for the County-at-large.
Board members serve without compensation, but there is a small allowance for meeting attendance.
This position is appointed by Town Council and serves a term of 2 or 4 years, with possibility for renewal when the first term ends.
